Living With Loss is a two-hour presentation that gives an overview of how grief is experienced and introduces ideas on how to deal with one’s own experience. It is offered in various Edmonton-area venues throughout the year. There is no charge for Living With Loss; donations to Edmonton Bereavement Centre are gratefully accepted. For those who wish to delve deeper, Living With Loss serves as an introduction to Walking With Grief.
Walking With Grief is a series of seven two-hour sessions offered weekly for seven weeks following most of the Living With Loss presentations. In a small group with a skilled Bereavement Facilitator, participants share their experience with others, learn how to acknowledge and normalize their own grief experience and learn techniques for self-care in this difficult time. In lieu of fees, we ask participants to make a donation to the Edmonton Bereavement Centre upon completion of the program.
Participants who have completed the Walking With Grief series may , participants wish to continue being supported with their grief in a group setting. Periodically we offer a “Level 2″ series called Living Beyond Loss.
For those who have suffered the death of their child, at any age, we offer Living With Loss and Walking With Grief for Parents. For those wanting to continue their journey in a guided fashion in a group, a “Level 2″ of Walking With Grief for Parents is offered periodically.
Seasonal and Special Information Sessions are offered from time to time for those who need a boost during difficult moments.
Individual Counselling is available to those who need this kind of support.
