Linda states “I feel it is important to support JFS in whatever way is helpful. I feel deeply committed to Tikkun Olam, to healing the world in small ways”.

Linda Hartum

I have served on the Board of Directors for Jewish Family Services since June of 2017.  It has been my great pleasure, in addition to regular Board duties, to assist with a number of events focused upon the well-being and enjoyment of our seniors.

I have been involved in a volunteer capacity since the age of twelve, mostly in service to disabled individuals and seniors.  My previous Board experience was as an Education Facilitator and then as a Treasurer.

My husband and I were entrepreneurs and operated several businesses throughout our working careers.  Although retired from business life, we continue to farm and raise cattle at our ranch home west of Edmonton.

Judy Garber

Judy served on the JFS Board from 2006-2010 and was eager to return to an organization that successfully integrates core values with new initiatives.

Judy moved to Edmonton from the United States in 1990 to teach urban political and American politics at the University of Alberta, where she is an Associate Professor.  She has always been aware of the importance of local efforts to solve problems like poverty and homelessness, so volunteering with Edmonton nonprofits is a priority.  Judy States “JFS has been a significant path to my involvement in Edmonton’s Jewish community, and I am a member of Temple Beth Ora. I live with my husband and university-aged step-son”.

Barry Rosof

Community service, for me, is an integral part of my life. Over ten years ago I served as President of JFSE and TBO. On retirement I wintered over in Mexico, limiting what I was able to do in Edmonton, but enabling me to do volunteer work in my Mexican town. As my life as a snow bird has ended, I can again take on a board position in Edmonton. Before retiring I ran a consulting engineering company. I have degrees in metallurgy and have taken up photography as a retirement hobby.
